Patsy (Patti) Joan Young Adjmi Obituary
Patsy (Patti) Joan Young Adjmi, 83, peacefully passed away at her home in Sandy Springs, Ga, on Jan. 14, 2024 from Parkinson’s Disease.
She was born Aug. 17, 1940 in a haunted house in Tracy City, Tennessee to Marty and Goldie (Lockhart) Young. Patti and older brother Bobby were joined by brother, Danny, ten years later. Patti spent most of her youth in Tullahoma where she developed lifelong friendships especially with her “sisters” Anne, Donna, and Debbie Hatfield. After graduating from Tullahoma High School, Class of 1958, Patti matriculated to Middle Tennessee State University where she stood out as a talented artist. College added Vivian and Shelvy to her close circle of sisters. The expense of college was too much of a burden for young Patti, and, after two years, she set off with her roommate Julie for the bright lights of Chicago. This move changed the trajectory of her life and created the legend we knew as The Bunny. Accompanying her nervous roommate on a job interview at the Playboy Club, Bunny Patti landed the job as well. Patti’s striking white-blonde hair and 14 inch waist garnered immediate attention, however, she was more than just a pretty face. She worked two full-time jobs to buy her parent’s a home on an acre of land. Her work ethic, intelligence, and leadership skills quickly took her from ‘Bunny’ to ‘Bunny Mother’. Playboy added Frankie, Pam and Patsy to the sister circle. As an executive with Playboy, Patti moved from club to club implementing policy, training, and handling Bunny operations. While at the New Orleans Club, a broken camera sent her into Shopper’s World where the store’s owner, Alex Adjmi, was instantly smitten. Patti and Alex wed ten years later and welcomed their only child, Brandi, in 1977. They lived happily in New Orleans until his death in 1993. Patti spent the next 20 years between Louisiana and Tennessee. Returning to Tennessee to spend time with her brothers Bobby, Danny, and, especially, Danny’s wife, Ruby. In 2017, she moved to Atlanta to be with Brandi and her husband Dan Jackson and their children Alexandra, Daniel, and Josh until her passing.
Patti’s memorial will be held at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home in Tullahoma on Jan 28, 2024. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. with the service following at 2 p.m.
Patti religiously gave to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and took in every stray animal that crossed her path. If so moved, donations to St. Jude or your local no kill animal shelter would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
