Republican Primary less than month away

The Coffee County Republican Primary is now less than a month away from the beginning of early voting, with numerous races set for the ballot. Early voting for the March 5 primary runs Feb 14-27, 2024.

The following candidates will be on the Republican primary ballot.

US President: Trump, Haley, DeSantis, possibly others

Coffee County:

 – Commissioner District 1: Dowe Jones (unchallenged)

 – Commissioner District 2: Benton Brown, Roger Chambers and Lee Sullivan (1 position)

 – Assessor of Property: Jenna Amacher, Elissa Keele Fletcher and William Huel Goldston (1 position)

 – County School Board Seat 1 (Districts 1/3/4): Holly Matthews, Gary Nester and Sherie Petty (1 position)

 – County School Board Seat 2 (Districts 2/6/7): Gary Cordell, Scott Hansert (2 positions)

 – County School Board Seat 3 (Districts 5/8/9): Robert Gilley and Beth Yentsch (2 positions)

 – Road Commissioner Seat 2, District 4: Arlis Markum (1 position)

Constable Seat 3 (Districts 5/8/9): Randal Braker (1 position)

Manchester City:

 – School Board: Susan Parsley and Lee Sullivan

Tullahoma City:

 – School Board 4-yr term: Broc Compton, Fanchyon Miller, Kim Uselton and J. Patrick Welsh (3 positions)

 – School Board 2-yr term: Rosie Graham and Beth Harrison (1 position)

Upcoming events (still working out details, to follow):

 – January 27, 2024 – Tullahoma focused political forum

 – Early Feb 2024 – Manchester focused and county forum

 – Late March, early April – Reagan Day Dinner, Senator Marsha Blackburn to keynote

Other than U.S. President, there will be no Democratic or Independent candidates. To participate in the March 5 primary voters will have to declare themselves Republicans when appearing at the polls.
