Edgar David Luthi Obituary

Edgar David Luthi, 90, of Decherd, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023, at St. Thomas Rutherford surrounded by his loving family. 

Mr. Luthi was born on Nov. 15, 1933, in Winchester to the late Chris Frank and Ruth Sarah (Davis) Luthi. Mr. Luthi retired in 1998, after twenty-five years of service from AEDC and was a part-time farmer. He was a Christian and the spiritual role model of the family. He was currently a member of the Estill Springs Church of Christ. In his spare time, he enjoyed building houses, going to the lake and slalom skiing, traveling to the mountains and the beach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Alma Elizabeth Weddington. Mr. Luthi is survived by his loving and devoted wife of sixty-six years, Verna Joyce (Garner) Luthi; three sons, Vernon Dwight (Gay) Luthi, Michael Chris Luthi (Kim Sherrill) and Mitchell Ryan Luthi (Misti Edwards); six grandchildren, Jordan (Ian), Mikayla, Hannah, Jacob (Ashlee), Joshua (Erica) and Logan; three great-grandchildren, County, Cole and Mara; and sister, Helen Mildred Luthi (George) Todd. Visitation for Mr. Luthi will be held on Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with funeral service following at 2 p.m. from the chapel.  Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens with Jacob Luthi, Dewey Wayne Garner, Stevey Garner, Richie Garner, Samuel Garner and Dale Pavatte all serving as pallbearers.
