Ralph J. Burton, 84, left this life on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  The baby of eleven children, he was born on June 24, 1939, in Moore County to the late Benjamin and Daisy Burton. 

Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024, at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.  Funeral Services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.  Interment will be at Lynchburg Cemetery with Eddie Burton, Benny Burton, Jim Bob Sandlin, Zach Limbaugh, Paul Swinford, and Sloan Stewart serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are some of his beloved nieces and nephews, Bug and Virginia Burton, Chad Burton, Marybelle Bunn, Billy Frank Spray, Johnny Burton, and Bobby Burton. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Friends of Animal Rescue and Adoption Center of Lynchburg.  The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice Compassus for their care during his final days.  Special thanks to his nurse, Danny Rutledge, for his care and compassion shown to the family.
