Kara Leigh Kraus of Tullahoma passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024 at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital at the age of 44.

Kara was born in Tullahoma to the late Alan Kraus, and Denita Walker Kraus who survives. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Huey and Bernice Kraus; grandfather, Joe Walker; and uncle, Rex Walker. Kara is survived by her grandmother, Faye Walker; mother, Denita Kraus (fiancé, Ray Turley); her three daughters, Kayleigh Hogan, Khloe Hogan, and Sydney Parks; brother, Lucas Kraus (Holly); nephew, Ayden; nieces, Damarius and Harper Kraus; and aunt, Nina Carswell. Kara loved her daughters and mother dearly. She had a passion for sports, particularly basketball and softball, and loved coaching her daughters’ various sports teams. She enjoyed spending time outdoors with her pets, Trigger, Piper, and Bruce Lee, and she loved being in church and listening to the church choir. She will be remembered by all for her selfless sharing of her love, and her big, beautiful heart.

Visitation for Kara will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Kilgore Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow in the Kilgore Funeral Home chapel at 4 p.m.
