James Richard Montgomery of Tullahoma passed away on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center at the age of 60.

Mr. Montgomery was born in Manchester to the late Frank and Hattie Nelson Montgomery. During his life Richard worked as a logistics supervisor at AEDC, and also as a welder, and attended Pleasant Hill Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-mother, Jean Ward Montgomery; and one sister, Janet Holder. Mr. Montgomery is survived by his wife, Teresa Tankersley Montgomery; one son, Justin Montgomery; four sisters, Melody Norris (Michael), Deborah Tibbets (Michael), Sherry Brown, and Pat Jones; and one brother, B.R. Jones (Kristia); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Visitation for Richard will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 13, from noon – 2 p.m. at Kilgore Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow in the Kilgore Funeral Home chapel at 2 p.m. with Rev. AJ Alderman officiating. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Richard’s memory be made to the American Diabetes Association – PO Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
