Marshall Kent Kingery Obituary
Marshall Kent Kingery, 92, passed away on Nov. 8, 2023, at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-
Harton Hospital. He was born in Jewett, Illinois on July 16, 1931, the son of Warren Kingery and Mary Alfrieda Doty Kingery.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the l Korean War, installing and maintaining radar and navigation electronics. After his service he earned a B. S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of lllinois and later an M.S. degree in electrical engineering from The University of Tennessee Space Institute. Beginning in 1956 and for the next 34 years he was employed by Arnold Engineering Development Center where he was instrumental in developing many of the test facilities. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Doris Sowers Kingery; his brother, Warren Theron Kingery; and his sister, Clara Kingery York. Marshall is deeply missed by his daughter, Debbie Bomar (Bruce); his sons, Kent Kingery (Rose Ann) and Dean Kingery (Brenda); six grandchildren and spouses; and several great-grandchildren.
In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and no services will be held at this time. A private family burial will take at Bomar Cemetery in Shelbyville at a later date.
