Tullahoma’s season ends at Spring Hill

The Tullahoma High School volleyball team went to Spring Hill for the first round of the district tournament and lost in four sets 25-17, 25-21, 24-26, 25-15.

The Lady Wildcats finished the season with a 10-16 overall record and a 5-9 district record. They started the season with district wins over Coffee County and Shelbyville in straight sets. After back-to-back district loses, the Lady ‘Cats went to White County for the Lynn Cannon Classic and went 2-2. They travelled to Fayetteville for their next game and won in straight sets, bringing their record to 5-4.  Tullahoma dropped their next three district games, two of them in the fifth set by a combined five points. They got back on track when they went to Coffee County beating them in five sets.

After that win they won their next six sets to beat Shelbyville and Fayetteville for the second time. They lost the next game in Columbia before playing in the Southern Slam tournament at Coffee County. The Lady Wildcats went 1-4 in the tournament beating Grundy County. They could not get out of the slump, losing the next three district matches, only winning one set total during the three game skid. The broke that streak on senior night with a 3-1 victory over Franklin County.

The Lady ‘Cats were lead in kills by Isabella Lidstrom with 203 on the season. She was followed by Emeri Saunders with 150 and Lacee Barbeau with 100. Olivia spencer led the team with 74 aces. She was followed by Jada Spry with 50, Saunders with 38 and Audrey Todaro with 25. The Lady Wildcats had 58 total blocks, Alaisha Bowen led in solo blocks with 14 and assisted in eight more. Saunders had the most assisted blocks with 10 to go with her six solo blocks. Emma Bell had nine solo blocks and five assisted. Lidstrom was the last Wildcats with more than 10 total blocks, she had nine assisted blocks and four solo. Throughout the 26 games Tullahoma racked up 1,514 digs, averaging 18.2 per set. Spencer topped the list with 310, followed by Saunders with 287. Spry was third with 225. The three other Lady ‘Cats with more than 100 digs were: Todaro, Lidstrom and Aubrey North. The team had 645 assists with Spry accounting for 325 of them. Todaro had the second most with 186.
