Lady Wildcats win on senior night

The Tullahoma High School volleyball team took down Franklin County 25-21, 25-11, 23-25, 25-21 to win their last regular season game.

Before the match the team had a ceremony for their five seniors: number 3 Audrey Todaro, number 6 Lacee Barbeau, number 10 Alaisha Bowen, number 14 Emma Bell and number 17 Emeri Saunders.

The Lady ‘Cats were able to win the very competitive first set, the two teams were never separated by more than five points. They took that opening set win and built off of it with the decisive second set win that included a 17-5 run to end the second set. A big eight point run by Franklin County shifted the momentum in the third set to give the Rebelettes an 18-12 lead. Tullahoma was able to tie it back up at 23-23, but could not complete the comeback as Franklin County won the next two points to take set three. The Rebelettes had all the momentum after going up 9-2 in the fourth set, before the Lady Wildcats put it back together and went on a 10-3 run evening the score up at 12. The set remained competitive the rest of the way with numerous lead changes before Tullahoma scored the final three points to win the match.

The Lady Wildcats statistical leaders during the match were: Olivia Spencer with five aces and 22 digs, Isabella Lidstrom with 17 kills, Jada Spry with an astonishing 36 assists and Saunders, Lidstrom and Alaisha Bowen all had two blocks. Spry and Emeri Saunders added four aces each for the Lady ‘Cats. Saunders was also the only player besides Lindstrom to have double digit kills with 11. She also had 17 digs.

Tullahoma travelled to Spring Hill for the first round of their district tournament Tuesday but the results were not available at the time of print.
