The Board of Mayor and Alderman authorized the city Parks and Recreation department to purchase two John Deere mowers in their first monthly meeting in October.
According to a memo from Parks and Recreation Director J.P. Kraft, “Parks and Recreation Grounds is making a scheduled replacement of two Zero-Turn Mowers. These two new mowers will replace the 2014 Gravely Zero Turn (no E number), and E-2991 John Deere Z960 (2017). Due to potential supply chain issues, we are ordering these mowers now to ensure we can take receipt before spring 2024 mowing occurs. These mowers are priced according to Sourcewell State Contract number 013121-DAC (PG BTCG 76).”
The two John Deere mowers cost in total $35,395.94, and are $17,679.97 each.
The memo states “The funds for this project are provided for in the FY24 Parks and Recreation Equipment Replacement Account.”
The Board approved the purchase unanimously, with Alderman Daniel Berry making the motion and Alderman Jerry Mathis seconding.
