Anne Compton Miller Obituary

Anne Compton Miller, was born in Noble, Oklahoma on May 20, 1925. She rested in peace on Oct. 19, 2023 at the age of 98.

She was raised by her Mother and Step-Father. During her senior year, she met Harold Miller, the love of her life. After graduation, they married and began their loving life until Harold died in 2014. They had Randy Miller in 1943 and Dwight Miller in 1946. Harold graduated in Aeronautical Engineering from Oklahoma University and moved from Norman, Oklahoma to Mt. Pleasant, Texas. In 1964, like many engineers joining the space program, Harold, Anne, and Dwight moved to Tullahoma where Harold joined, what is now AEDC. They all joined First Methodist Church and Harold and Anne spent the rest of their lives serving the church. Anne was a lifetime homemaker. She was truly the matriarch of the family and took care of the whole family. In addition to her parents and her husband, Anne was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Edwards. She leaves two sons, Randy (Dinah) Miller, and Dwight (Susie) Miller; five grandchildren, Trey Miller, Tracy (Stuart) Haberle, Tisha (Brad) Reed, Christopher (Cathy) Miller, and Greg Miller; seven great-grandchildren, Glenn Miller, Trey Haberle, John Reed, and Cayden, Elizabeth and Madison Miller; and special friends, Frank and Kathy Glass.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at First Methodist Church in Tullahoma from 10 a.m.-noon with the funeral to immediately follow at noon with Rev. Rickey Wade officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Anne’s memory be made to First United Methodist Church of Tullahoma, 208 West Lauderdale Street, Tullahoma, TN; or the charity of your choice.
