Ruth Inez Bishop passed away on Monday, Oct. 23, 2023 at Legacy Health and Rehab at the age of 92.

A native of Lee County, Virginia and a long-time resident of Kettering, OH before moving to Tullahoma. She loved to spend time with sports, travel, her flowers and vegetable garden, church and especially her family. She will be remembered as a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother.

Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Cicero Gordon “Bud” Bishop of Kettering, Ohio. Parents, Harrison and Parolee Childress, Sisters, Mary Flaugher, Ruby Price, Clarro Childress, Laura Cox and Ossie Hall. Brothers, Curtis Gale “Jib” Childress, Roy John Childress, and Clint Childress. Grandchildren, James E. Wimsatt III and Joshua Bishop.

Inez is survived by her daughter, Patti (Jim) Wimsatt of Tullahoma and Dean Bishop of Charlotte, NC. Grandchildren, Andrew (A.J.) Winn, Scott (Brooke) Wimsatt, Gina (Andy) Stow, Theresa (Forrest) Blackburn, Elizabeth (Bishop) Moore and Andrew Wimsatt. Great-Grandchildren Geoff and Dylan Stow, Amara Blackburn, London Winn and Waylon Wolf-Wimsatt, Ryker Wimsatt and Amelia Ruth Wimsatt.

Sunday, October 29, 2023, Visitation with family will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at Daves-Culbertson Funeral in Tullahoma with a service following at 3 p.m. with Rev. Tom Murdock officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
