Over 50 youths participated in Tullahoma High School Tennis Camp recently, learning the basics of the game.

“This was the first year we have organized a THS tennis camp for the community,” said THS Head Coach Ashley Abraham of the inaugural event. “I noticed that most High School sports do a kid’s camp and thought why not tennis too.”

Abraham said she was surprised and pleased by the interest the camp garnered.

“I honestly did not know how much interest we would receive. We had close to 50 kids signup,” she said.

The grades participating were from 1st to incoming 9th graders.

“It was a great turnout and they learned all the basics of tennis while having fun,” Abraham said. “I wanted the high school players to learn from it too. They showed strong leadership and communication skills. I was very proud of them.”

The Tullahoma Tennis Team (current and alumni players) helped coach while Ashley Abraham, Head Coach, oversaw and organized the camp. The money raised will go towards the tennis program.
