Earth’s Poetry

“The earth is like a child who knows the poems of my heart”

It’s all been memorized

Each season and each creature

Knows the time it should arrive.

When the winter snows have melted

The crocus opens spring

Followed by the iris

Soon the robins sings.

You will seldom see a bear in winter

For he knows it’s time to sleep

The fish won’t appear when the day is hot

He needs water that is cold and deep.

The wind blows when God demands

The leaves know when to fall

Nature knows it all by heart

No detail is too small.

The stars travel on a pre-determined path

They seldom stray away

The sun and moon can be countered on

To show up every day.

Earth’s poetry is like a heartbeat

With a meter and a rhyme

The ocean is its drummer

Beating out the time.

We often take it all for granted

With no thought for what they do

With precision and prediction

God planned it all for you.
