Police department joins ‘Operation Southern Slow Down’

The Tullahoma Police Department has announced it will be joining the Tennessee Highway Safety Office’s “Operation Southern Slow Down” to reduce speeding-related crashes statewide.

“The purpose of this multi-jurisdictional campaign is to increase enforcement from July 17 to July 23 to reduce speeding across the Southeast,” TPD officials said in a statement. “During this campaign, Tullahoma Police Department will increase education, awareness and enforcement efforts to help reduce speeding-related crashes, injuries and fatalities across Tennessee.”

The police department added it will have officers out in residential and main thoroughfares to do their part to reduce speed elated crashes. Other states that will be participating in “Operation Southern Slow Down” include Alabama, Florida and South Carolina.
