Drug and weapons charges have been lodged against a local man after tens of thousands of dollars were found in his possession along with narcotics and guns during a traffic stop by Tullahoma police.

The suspect, Shmicheal Conley, 32, is charged with possession of drugs with intent to sell or deliver and illegal possession of a firearm in connection with what police found during a search of his vehicle.

Conley was pulled over by police on North Jackson Street after it was discovered he was driving on a revoked license. When asked if he had anything illegal in his car, Conley reportedly told lawmen he had a gun, but nothing illegal. Police recovered a Glock 17 from his passenger seat.

However, police went on to discover illegal items once they checked the backseat, including a red backpack that contained half a gram of what is believed to be heroin. Also located in backpacks in the backseat was a large sum of cash.

“The total cash located in both bags was $45, 733,” police revealed, noting there were 449 $100 bills as well as 41 $20 bills and some smaller denominations.

Police also found a pair of iPhones marked with orange stickers along with ammunition. Inside the trunk police reported finding a loaded M4 carbine rifle.

Conley had the property and his Jeep seized and was arrested on the drug and weapons charges as well as for driving on a revoked license.
