I have just watched a beautiful maple leaf

As she bravely let go of her tree

With no thought for where she’s going

But, at least she’s been set free.

A perilous adventure

Floating away with the wind

Without a care in the world

And no thought for where she’s been.

An elegant sight for my eyes only

As the quiet ripples gently take

This messenger of God’s creation

To her new home on this lovely lake.
