MOTHERS

B

Her hair has gradually faded to gray

But there’s still a twinkle in her eyes

Her skin is dry and wrinkled

Yet her smile is like a sunrise.

She walks slowly … but she’s walking

Holding her head up high

Portraying strength and courage for tomorrow

As she watches the world go by.

The years were once so busy and eventful

But now her husband has gone ahead

The children have moved away

A life once so full, now empty instead.

There are many women who fit this description

As we ponder this Mother’s Day

How proud we are to have them in our midst

And for the courage they display.

Today we lift them in prayer

As we gratefully approach God’s throne

Requesting His special Presence

Offering proof they’re not alone.
