Brindley Duncan qualified for state in three races. At sectionals she got first in the 1600m and 800m. She ran a 5:28.40 in the 1600 and a 2:27.92 in the 800. Katie Grace Nichols also qualified for state in the 800. She finished in third with a time of 2:40.08. The 4×400 team of Nichols, Emily Bell, Madison Crowder, and Duncan broke their previous school record they set last week of 4:33.47 with a 4:33.18 and finished third. They are headed to State. East only brought the four girls to the meet and they got fourth overall as a team, out of 27 teams.

The East boys 4×400 team of Adrain Perkins, Maddox Muse, Kobe Taylor, and Gage Allen also broke the school record of 4:09.04 from 2011 with a 4:09.04. They finished third and qualified for State.

The middle school state championship is at Austin Peay State University on Saturday, May 20.
