Lady ‘Cats season comes to a close

Tullahoma lost to Lawrence County 13-6 in the District 8-AAA tournament loser’s bracket, ending their season earlier this week.

The Lady Wildcats had no struggles at the plate as they had 11 hits and eight walks. Kaitlynn Gattis, Kylee Holt, Ragan Norman, and Mallorie Stone all had multiple hits in the game. Gattis led the way with three hits. Addyson Norman and Aleigha Raby both had a hit Monday night. Gattis and Elizabeth Simpson drew a pair of walks each. Addyson Norman, Ragan Norman, Zaylan Spinner, and Margaret Lynch all took a walk.

Tullahoma’s defense and pitching struggled against Lawrence. They committed four errors. The Lady ‘Cats gave up 12 hits, allowed 13 runs, and walked six batters.

The Lady Wildcats finished the regular season with a record of 14-11 overall and 5-5 in District. This was improvement from last year when they went 2-19 overall and 2-8 in District and going winless two years ago.

As a team on the year Tullahoma racked up strikeouts, tallying 105 combined. They outhit their opponents on the year. They had 245 hits as a team and gave up 220 hits. The Lady ‘Cats were outscored 214 to 201. They committed 59 errors on the year, which led to 64 of those runs being unearned.
