Ministries of Hope not stopped by rain

Fifty members of the Ministries of Hope gathered at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, to walk through the streets of Tullahoma for its annual cross-walk, and to get citizens talking about the life of Christ on Easter weekend.

“We do this walk to bring awareness to Jesus Christ and the sacrifice that He made for us,” said Pastor Mike Ervin of Ministries of Hope Church. “Jesus died for our sins. He overcame death so that we might have eternal life.”

In previous years, the event has turned out hundreds of participants from surrounding churches, but the rain on Easter weekend kept the numbers down to around 50 walkers. Ervin still expressed his appreciation for the participants who attended, as well as the police escort that joins the walk every year.

Walkers accompany the group from Lowe’s on North Jackson Street to the viaduct on West Carroll Street to the Ministries of Hope Church located at 808 S. Anderson St., next to Tullahoma Lanes.

Ervin additionally offered his thanks to Burger King of Tullahoma, for providing free meals to the walkers on Saturday morning.
