Wildcats outlast Rebels

Tullahoma Middle School Softball travelled to Franklin County Tuesday for an extra innings battle and won 5-4.
Both teams only scored in the 3rd, 6th, and 8th innings. Tullahoma outhit Franklin County, 12 hits to seven.
Anzley Holloway threw the entire game for the Lady Wildcats. She struck out five batters over the full eight innings. Holloway threw 148 pitches. She stranded 13 runners on base during the game and only allowed three earned runs.
Tullahoma had seven different batters record a hit Tuesday. Anzley Holloway, Julianna Ites, Kayleigh Campbell, Miaha Johnson, Brinley Gillam, Kaylee Casselman, Anabelle Smith, and Samantha Johnson all had at least one hit. Miaha Johnson, Gillam, Casselman, and Samantha Johnson each had two hits in the game. Smith had a pair of RBI to lead the team. They did slightly better than the Rebels, only stranding 10 runners on base.
They were able to overcome their errors Tuesday night, unlike Monday when their errors contributed to an eight-run inning for their opponent Lincoln County. That inning led to a loss in five innings to the Falcons.
The Wildcats host the Rebels Monday for a rematch at East Middle School. The game will start at 5 p.m.
