Welcome To Tennessee
B
When I first arrived in Tennessee
I was greeted by the rain
She hung around and made us welcome
Again, and again, and again!
Now as I view the evidence
Of what her daily presence brought about
I see the work of those nail-pierced hands
He planned it all, without a doubt,
The Honeysuckle vine, always on the move
Her perfume saturating the air
Her pale-yellow flower boldly appears
As she travels everywhere.
The Pear tree and the Dogwood
Hold a contest for their beauty
The hydrangea offers giant blooms
In colors to stagger my believeability.
This is just the beginning of learning
About this new land I’ve traveled to.
I have a God who anxiously awaits
To prove to me what else His rain can do.
