Local veteran honored with Quilt of Valor
D
Sgt. 1st class Charles Guinn was honored recently in the presence of family and friends when he was awarded a Quilt of Valor for his 32 years of military service with the National Guard. He served as a supply Sergeant and as a company level chaplain. His assignments had him serving during Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf as well as other assignments which took him all over the world.
His Quilt of Valor was designed and created by Sharon Elliott, a member of DAR, and she included in the design a Cross because of Sgt. Guinn’s role as a chaplain.
The presentation took place at Damron’s Restaurant where his family and friends gathered for the event. He delighted the crowd as he told about his many assignments and travels to so many far-away destinations.
We are proud to honor Sgt. Guinn for his many years of service as he honored our Country with his 32 years of service. Thank you, Sgt. Guinn.
