A pair of men face theft charges for allegedly stealing a trail cam but forgetting that their picture was taken and sent to the cam’s owner even after it was taken.
The suspects, Christopher Edward Bain, 50, and Jeremy Jerome Johnson, 32, are charged with theft.
Their charges come after a property owner installed a trail camera due to recent burglaries at the residence.
“He got an alert from his trail camera showing two individuals identified as Christopher Bain and Jeremy Johnson removing the camera and three bags of unknown items,” the police report revealed, with the responding officer recalling that he had passed one of the described suspects as he was coming to take the report.
Police first went to see Bain who took them to three bags he had taken from the Southwood Lane area. Inside one of the bags was the trail camera. However, Bain reportedly maintained he was allowed to be on the property to take flowers but while on the scene that Johnson took the trail camera. Johnson, when approached by police, reportedly admitted to taking the camera.
