The Coffee County Rural Solid Waste Department will surplus an old tractor and possibly use the funds generated by that sale to purchase a dump trailer.

According to minutes from the December meeting, Commissioner Laura Nettles made a motion to post the 1990 Ford LNT tractor on govdeals.com. Commissioner Missy DeFord seconded.

Director of Solid Waste Rennie Bell asked to use the proceeds to purchase a small dump truck, but Chairman Dennis Hunt suggested a dump trailer to be bought instead to hall gravel to the county’s various convenience centers.

The department will further discuss designating several old containers as surplus. The committee chose to wait until new containers arrive before disposing of the old ones.
