Motlow falls by single point to Jackson State
The Motlow Bucks women’s basketball team fought gallantly to the end before falling by one point, 47-46, to Jackson State Saturday afternoon at Copperweld Arena.
The Bucks (1-15, 1-12) will host Dyersburg State on Saturday, Feb. 11, with tipoff at 2 p.m. at Copperweld Arena.
Cold shooting was the downfall for the Bucks as they shot only 18.6 percent from the field and 15.4 percent from 3-point range. Motlow connected on 18-32 free throws.
A’Maria Thomison had a double-double for Motlow, scoring 14 points while pulling down 14 rebounds. She added five blocked shots and four steals.
Morgan Webb scored 15 points with eight rebounds, Jheilaa Thomas added 12 points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals, and Destiny Russell scored five points with four rebounds. Kameya Bridgewater added seven rebounds.
