Tullahoma house moved to Goose Pond

It won’t be the wizard or the winds that will move a Tullahoma house to the Goose Pond community. It will be Morgan’s House Movers, now that the Coffee County Planning Commission signed off on the relocation at the Feb. 28 meeting
According to the Codes Department, the request came before the commission to make sure the structure fits into the zoning in the destination location. The codes department recommended the approval.
The commission also approved the site plan for a dowel plant to be located on the New Tullahoma Highway, owned by Johnny Evans. The site plan approval follows a recent variance granted that will allow the structure to be built on an existing heavy duty concrete slab that was used to unload lumber.
Engineering Consultant Kenny Sadler told the commission the plans include paving the existing gravel lot.
The commission unanimously approved the plan with the recommendation from the codes department.
An additional site plan was approved for the expansion to a heavy equipment business on AEDC Road, owned by Mike Cardinal.
The plan calls for the addition of a couple of warehouse at the rear of the property and the demolition of an existing nonconforming structure that’s sitting too far into the side setback.
The construction will be in multiple phases.
