Integrity in local government

There are several elected or appointed representatives of the citizens in our area who should resign their positions, or at a minimum, recuse themselves from certain votes because of clear conflicts of interest, and clear advancement of self-interest.

When elected or appointed to such leadership roles, oaths are taken to look out for the best interests all citizens. Everyone in every office must be held to this standard.

I urge all of our citizens to be watchful and hold these officials to account for their oaths. Whether you take your three minutes of public comment time, make a call, send an email, speak to them at church or an aisle at Walmart – say something. This is our civic duty. We get the government we deserve.
