English, Muse earn top DYW awards

Two Tullahoma High School seniors received top awards at the Tennessee Distinguished Young Women scholarship program held at Lee University in Cleveland on Saturday, July 22.

Isabella English was named Second Alternate and received preliminary awards in interview and talent. Madeline Muse was awarded the title of First Alternate while receiving preliminary awards in scholastics, talent, and self-expression.

Both young ladies are walking away with additional scholarship dollars which will help further their education. Distinguished Young Women is the oldest scholarship program for high school girls in the country.

The Distinguished Young Women program is a scholarship competition for young ladies in their junior year of high school. The Cumberland Valley and Tullahoma program has become one of the nation’s most successful local programs. Over the past 17 years, the program has had one national winner and six state winners. To date, Tullahoma High School juniors have earned over $320,000 in cash scholarships as a result of this program.
