Wildcats look for bounce back season

The Tullahoma High School football team’s season begins Friday night when they host Stewarts Creek at 7 p.m.

The Wildcats are looking to have a much improved season this year compared to last season, when the finished just 4-6. The team has competed in three scrimmages to lead into the regular season. They travelled to Giles County on July 28 and came out on top 21-20. The Bobcats were a quarter final team last year in the State tournament. Then they went to Fayetteville on Aug. 4 to face another contender in Fayetteville City, who went to the 1A Quarterfinals last season. The Wildcats won 17-13. They finished their preseason play Friday at home against Summit who is another legit contender. They missed the playoffs by a game last year, after finishing as runners-up in 2021. Tullahoma won that matchup 24-20, to go undefeated in the preseason.

Stewarts Creek was another playoff team last year, as they faced off against Coffee County in the first round which is where their season ended. So this makes the fourth straight week in which the Wildcats will have faced off against a legitimate contender that has competed in the Tennessee State playoffs in the last two seasons.

There will be a Tailgate Party before the game Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Frazier McEwen Park, near the THS baseball stadium. Kickoff is slated to start at 7 p.m. at Wilkins Stadium.
