The Tullahoma High School golf team finished fourth in the Franklin County Invitational with a total score of 365, just 12 strokes more than the third-place finishers. This brings the team’s record to 21-11 on the year.
The Wildcats struggled in this competition, having a total score that was 17 shots higher than their last 18-hole competition. During this Invitational Alex Miller led the way for the ‘Cats with an 87, and Caden Finchum followed in second for the team with a 91. Jack Hill was in third with a 93 and Keegan Taylor was right behind, rounding out the team’s score with a 94. That made the team total of 338, the score not counted for that group was Jesse Gillis who had a score of 98. The whole team shot under 100 which is something they have not done in every event this season, so they can look at that and continue to build. Myla Dennis shot a 99, finishing with the sixth-best score from any of the girls who competed. She was just six shots away from the girl who finished in fourth.
The Wildcats’ next competition is a district 18-hole match against Coffee County on Monday at WillowBrook Golf and Country Club. The Red Raider also competed in the FC Invitational, they finished second in the boys’ competition and their two girls finished last of the teams with a qualifying score.
