Parks and Recs hosts two free events this weekend

The Tullahoma Parks and Recreation has announced two free events for tonight and tomorrow evening.

Starting tonight, Parks and Rec will be hosting Ultimate Dodgeball in the gym at C.D. Stamps Community Center.

“This event will hopefully become a loud, rowdy, and hilarious event with families battling it out to music,” Program Coordinator Amy Barnes said. “It’s a really good time, and fantastic exercise! Stretch before you play parents!”

Parents are encouraged to come by and teach their kids how to have fun while being a team player. The dodgeballs used are completely safe, and not the red “playground” balls.

Then, on Sat, Oct. 7, the department will be having a free movie night in the same gymnasium at C.D. Stamps. Originally, the program advertised “The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad,” due to not getting the licensing for “Encanto.” However, the department was able to get the licensing so the movie has changed to “Encanto.”

“So come and see it and have some free popcorn and don’t forget pillows and blankets so you can stretch out and enjoy this community experience,” Barnes said.

Barnes added there is a whole season of events in the Quarterly Program for Tullahoma Parks and Recreation, but need residents to attend to keep them going.

“Ever wonder what to do on a Friday or Saturday night that won’t cost you a bundle. Come be a part of these fun and free activities.”
