Scott Hinds Obituary
Scott Hinds, 76, passed away on Nov. 22, 2023, after a long illness. He was a beloved father, husband, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Scott was born on Feb. 13, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Harry and Doris Hinds. He earned a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and after serving in the United States Army, spent his career working in the field at NASA, General Electric, and Arnold Engineering Development Center. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.
In 1977, Scott met the love of his life Amy Sue Aldridge. The two married in 1978 and raised three daughters (Jennifer, Lindsey, and Hayley) in Tullahoma, TN. He loved spending time with his family and was always there to offer love, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.
In his free time, Scott loved collecting coins, playing golf and tennis, traveling with his wife, attending John Denver and Def Leppard concerts with his daughters, and playing with his grandchildren. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Tullahoma where he served on Session and the Pastor Nominating Committee.
Scott is survived by his loving wife, Amy Sue, his children, Jennifer Hinds (Meggan Baumgartner), Lindsey Hinds-Brown, Hayley (James) Smith, his grandchildren, Aidan, Lucy, Connor, Parker, and Cooper, his sister, Judy (David) Winchester, brother, Greg Hinds, and many beloved cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Doris Hinds, and his sister-in-law Sharon Hinds. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, November 28, at First Presbyterian Church in Tullahoma with a time of fellowship following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Presbyterian Church in Tullahoma, TN.
