Jim Wesley Jernigan Jr. Obituary
Jim Wesley Jernigan Jr, 64, of Estill Springs, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, at his residence.
A native of Frankin County, he was born in Estill Springs on Dec. 17, 1958, to the late Jim Wesley and Florence Hawkins Jernigan Sr. He was the owner and operator of J.W. Jernigan Masonry, where he worked as a block and brick mason. Jim was very active in the Masonic Lodge and had served as Master of Estill Springs Masonic Lodge 561, Past Master of Winchester Masonic Lodge 158, 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rite and York Rite, Ambassador at Tri-Lakes Shrine Club, member of Winchester Eastern Star 196, and member of Al Menah Shrine. He was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church in Tullahoma. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Frances Kennedy, Dorothy Luna, and Edith Chandler; and brother, John David. Jim is survived by his wife, Laura Jernigan of Estill Springs; son, Clint Jernigan of Shelbyville; sister, Annie B. (Paul) Keller Sr of Winchester; step-son, Corey Cleveland of Estill Springs; and grandson, Elijah Scarbrough of Tullahoma.
Visitation will be from noon – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13 and on Thursday, Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Calvary Apostolic Church, 151 Parham Boulevard, Tullahoma. Funeral Services will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Garner Cemetery with Masonic Funeral Rites.
