New family greeted by theft of trailer
A Turkey Creek family who recently moved to Tullahoma is out nearly $35,000 after someone stole their utility trailer containing numerous items from their residence during last month’s snow storm.
The victim lives on Turkey Creek Road in Franklin County. He told police the black Homesteader 5HA utility trailer was parked in his driveway on Jan. 15 but sometime between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day it was gone. Police investigated the theft and noted that seven inches of snow had fallen the evening before and that a footprint, believed to belong to the theft, was found in the snow as was a tire mark that led out of the driveway.
“The family had just moved to Tullahoma and had numerous expensive items in the trailer including tools, fishing gear, canning equipment and other items.” the police report revealed.
The trailer was valued at over $11,000 and its contents are assessed at over $23,000.
