Naked man accosts wife after car chase
A local man is facing felony charges after he allegedly chased his wife in a car and ran her off the road and then tried to break into the woman’s wrecked vehicle while naked.
The suspect, Michael E. Fann, is charged with aggravated assault, public indecency, reckless endangerment and domestic assault for the incident which lawmen say happened while the remnants of last month’s winter storm were still on the road, making the car chase even more dangerous.
Coffee County were told the domestic dispute began at the couple’s home and at some point Fann allegedly pulled a double barrel shotgun and discharged it three times before “trashing the furniture and appliances” in the house with the gun – breaking the firearm.
Fann’s wife reportedly fled the house and got into her car but discovered the suspect had jumped into another vehicle and was coming at her.
“This led to a dangerous pursuit on icy roads where Fann struck the victim’s vehicle from behind several times before causing both vehicles to veer off the road and into the ditch,” the offense report revealed, noting what happened next was viewed by witnesses. “Then (the suspect) exited his vehicle, completely naked, and in view of witnesses and attempted to break into the victim’s vehicle.”
Lawmen arrived and took Fann into custody. The incident happened on Jan. 19 on a day the high only reached 27. Officers believe the suspect was under the influence of alcohol.
