Vera Ruth Cowley, age 94 of Decherd, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, at her residence. She was born on June 27, 1929, in Grundy County, to the late James and Alma Mae (Meeks) Sartain. Vera worked as a seamstress at the Cowan Hat Factory and Lanier Coat Factory.

Graveside Services were held Friday, Feb. 23, at Mt. Garner Cemetery.

Moore-Cortner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
