Tullahoma falls short in opener

Tullahoma High School baseball team hosted Station Camp and lost 4-2.

The Wildcats struggled in the batters’ box, only recording four total bases. Andrew Fulmer, Evan Tomlin, Baylan Tuten and Jayron Morris recorded the four hits. Morris stole a base. Fulmer scored the first run for the ‘Cats in the 6th inning. He took second and third on passed balls, after singling. Morris smacked a single up the middle to get Fulmer home. Tuten started the 7th with a line drive to center field. He advanced to second and then third on a couple of passed balls. Tuten scored on a ground out by Hunter Hogan. Tullahoma drew no walks and struck out 12 times.

Tuten started the game on the mound for the ‘Cats. He struck out eight batters in four innings. He allowed just four hits and walked four. He threw 77 pitches, 48 were strikes. Andrew Zebick replaced Tuten in the 5th inning and finished the game for Tullahoma. Zebick struck out three batters and allowed four hits. He threw just 30 pitches, 22 of them found the zone.

Tullahoma faces Mount Juliet tonight at Oakland. They will travel to play Blackman on Thursday and then Oakland on Friday.
