Community enjoys a serving of Taste of Tullahoma

The aroma of local cuisine was blowing in the wind as the community made their way to the Tennessee Army National Guard Armory this past Monday for the Taste of Tullahoma Food and Business Expo.

Hosted by the Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) and sponsored by Coffee County Bank and Master of Ceremonies, the event is designed to showcase the local restaurants and businesses in the area to the community.

According TACC Executive Director Hope Nunley, this year’s expo event saw 50 vendors that registered and set up shop inside the armory with booths, though the booths had to be reconfigured slightly due to the weather earlier in the day

Nunley said at the start of the event about 250 attendees were making their way through each of the booths and expected up to 400 people to stop by to get a “taste” of Tullahoma throughout the event. She added she was grateful to everyone who had a booth and those who came out to enjoy the family friendly event.

“It’s just a great way for a business to showcase their product, connect with new people and all of the samplings of everyone’s local favorite restaurants,” Nunley said. “(I’m) glad everyone brought their family out to this great event.”

According to Nunley, this year’s event marked the sixth Taste of Tullahoma and Business Expo event since it was revived in 2017 following a nine-year hiatus. The event would experience another two-year gap in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic before returning with great success in September 2022.

The expo consisted of various corporate and local businesses that can be found in Tullahoma, including: City Sandwich Co., Emil’s Bistro & Lounge, Miss Mary Bobo’s, Crazy Daisies Food Truck, The Seafood Place, McMurr’s, Nearest Green Distillery, Reyes Coca-Cola, Pepsi Beverages Co., Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital and more.
