Joanne Parks Mills Obituary
Joanne Parks Mills passed away on March 29, 2024 with her family by her bed. She was 90 years old.
She is survived by her husband Larry and they have shared over 66 years together, and her son, Michael (Michele). She had four grandchildren: Ian of Oakland, TN, Connor (Nanami) of Denver. CO, Patrick (Lauren) of Birmingham, AL, and Virginia (Brian) of Spring Hill, and one great grandson. She was predeceased by her parents Roy and Juanita Parks and her brother Bobby, all of Tullahoma. She was born in Hilltop, TN on Jan. 8, 1934. She attended school in Lynchburg and Tullahoma, and she graduated as valedictorian of her class at Bledsoe County High School. She graduated from Tennessee Tech, where she was a member of Who’s Who Among College Students. Among other honors, she taught school in Algood, Tullahoma, Kingston, and for 25 years at Rivermont Elementary School in Chattanooga. She was a Southern Lady of the old school who loved to laugh, play bridge, visit with friends, and be with her family. Nothing was better than old westerns and Perry Mason. She will be sorely missed.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 2 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home in Tullahoma. Burial followed in Rosehill Memorial Garden. Online condolences may be made at www.davesculbertsonfuneralhome.com.
