Over 110 job seekers connect with industry leaders at High-Tech Job Fair
The Tullahoma Area Economic Development Corporation (TAEDC), in partnership with 12 other organizations, successfully hosted a High-Tech Job Fair on Thursday, May 9, at the University of Tennessee Space Institute.
The event was a resounding success, drawing over 110 job seekers from the region who are interested in various high-demand fields such as aerospace, hypersonics, testing and evaluation, cybersecurity, data analysis and skilled trades including electrical, IT services, welding and HVAC.
This strategic event was part of a collaborative effort to harness the area’s rich resources in engineering and test and evaluation technology and services. Participants included aerospace and construction companies in southern middle Tennessee and Huntsville, AL, financial institutions, colleges, as well as the Arnold Engineering Development Complex, the world’s largest and most advanced aerospace testing facility.
“The job fair not only connected highly skilled individuals with top-tier employers in the industry but also showcased Tullahoma’s commitment to advancing economic and national security through workforce development,” said Winston Brooks, Executive Director TAEDC.
Attendees had the opportunity to engage with potential employers looking for talent across a spectrum of roles, from entry-level to expert positions, across multiple locations nationally. This highly targeted event underscored the diverse career opportunities within the aerospace and high technology sectors and highlighted the region’s role as a growing hub for technological advancement and innovation.
“Over the next five years, getting the right workforce for the growth at Arnold Engineering Development Complex and other companies in the region is paramount to the success of hypersonic testing as well as other emerging technologies,” Col. Beverly Lee (USAF Retired) stated. “These efforts require the very best talent—engineers, scientists, professionals, and skilled trade personnel to satisfy the requirements laid out in our national defense strategy.”
