Decherd Alderman and wife arrested on drug charges

Decherd Alderman Justin Stubblefield and his wife, Paige Stubblefield, have each been arrested on charges of conspiring to distribute oxycodone stemming from a recent investigation.

Bond for each has been set at $150,000, according to Franklin County Jail reports. Both are to appear in Franklin County General Sessions Court on Sept. 12, reports said.

Alderman Stubblefield was also charged with laundering money.

The Decherd Board of Mayor and Aldermen held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday. However, Stubblefield did not attend, and he and Mrs. Stubblefield were arrested at another location at about 8 p.m. by 12th Judicial District Drug and Violent Crime Task Force officers.

Twelfth Judicial District Attorney Gen. Courtney Lynch’s office issued a press release stating that the investigation stemmed from an April 21, 2022, case involving the overdose deaths of William Horton and Myles Kincaid.

The press release said that the DTF probe began after Decherd police investigators uncovered new evidence in the case resulting in the charges against Mr. and Mrs. Stubblefield.

“The investigation into the overdose deaths of William Horton and Myles Kincaid will continue with the goal of charging those responsible with their deaths of second-degree murder,” the press release said.
