Katherine Marie Vaughn of Tullahoma passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital at the age of 86.

Mrs. Vaughn was born in Warren County to the late William Martin and Stella Sparkman Smith. During her life she was a member of College Street Baptist Church, and retired from Wal-Mart after 27 ½ years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her husband, Millard “Tony” Vaughn; one daughter, JoAnn Painter; brothers, Wayne, James, and Buddy Smith; sisters, Grace Reedy, Inia Cruise, Pauline Tatum, Billie Kyzer, and Ruth Dodson; and one great-grandson, Nolan.

She is survived by one son, Kenny Vaughn; two daughters, Inia Arnold, and Grace Phillips (Johhny); one sister, Ruby Jo Tucker; eight grandchildren, Brandi Hill (Joe), Wesley Painter (Jacqueline), Ashley Hall (Coty), Jodi Jacobs (Jonathan), Jessica Arnold (Billy), Joshua Arnold (Rhiannon), Cruz Phillips, and Brandon Painter; and 14 great-grandchildren, Clayton, Kaleigh, Peyton Riley, Pearson, Hunter, Trevor, Anna, Olivia, Kinsley, Isaac, Addie, Lilly, Preston, and Killian; and she was looking forward to soon becoming a first time great-great-Nanny (mother, Kaleigh).

Visitation for Mrs. Vaughn will be held on Wednesday, July 10, from noon – 2 p.m. at Kilgore Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Katherine’s life will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the Kilgore Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Patrick Waller officiating. Burial will follow at Old Reddins Cemetery.
