In its June meeting, the board were presented the item to consider awarding a bid for the project. According to the memo from TUA President Allen Potter, a bid was held for the East Lincoln Street water line project.
“The purpose of this project is to replace 5,520 ft. of deteriorating 6-inch and 8-inch water line on East Lincoln Street and Highland Drive,” Potter said.
Potter said the only bidder was Prince Utility LLC with a bid amount of $1,510,403, but the budgeted amount for the project was $1.1 million.
“We adjusted the quantities of items required for the project and negotiated a lower price with Prince (Utility) on the road and driveway bore cost units,” Potter said. “The revised cost is $1,180,913. Prince has agreed to complete the project at this cost.”
He recommended that the board approved the revised bid from Prince Utility, LLC for the East Lincoln Street water line project in the amount $1,180,913 with the $80,913 over the budgeted amount to come from reserves.
With no further discussion or comments, the board unanimously approved the revised bid for the water line project.
