As the midway point of the season approaches, the Royals stand alone as the only unbeaten team left in the Tullahoma Men’s Baseball League at 4-0.

Pink Sox upset Stache 10-3

The Sox picked up their first win of the season beating the previously undefeated Stache. Dallas Bryan tossed the entire six innings, throwing 104 pitches and striking out 11 batters. Bryan only walked one and allowed five hits that led to the Stache’s three earned runs. The Pink Sox offense had their best performance of the season, picking up seven hits and six walks. Skyler Hood led the team with two hits. Jordan Welker, Bryan, Jacob Garner and Dylan Clanton recorded the other hits. Austin Odom led the team with two walks; while Xavier Northcutt, Hood, Clanton and Frank Villanueva drew one.

The Stache struggled to keep up with the Sox, only getting on base six times. Logan Underhill had a pair of hits. Layne Roberts, Kevin Moritz and Dylan Ward each had a hit. Noah Fann took the only walk for the Stache. Caleb Underhill started on the mound and went 1.1 innings. He struck out two, gave up two hits and walked five batters. Moritz replaced him and threw the last 4.2 innings. He struck out seven, walked one, allowed five hits and had five unearned runs score while on the mound.

The Stache will face off with the Shovels Thursday in a rematch of the 2023 Championship at Green Field at 6 p.m.

  Royals roll past Braves 12-4

The Royals hit a pair of blasts to score five of their runs. Ross Capps hit a three-run shot over the left field fence in the first innings to take an early 4-2 lead. Corey Mullins hit a two run shot out of center field to give the Royals an 8-2 lead.  Mullins led the team with two hits, his second hit was a double. Terrin Maupin, Derrick Boles, Jeff Riddle and Aiden Webster had the rest of the team’s seven hits. Webster’s hit was a double. JJ Webster drew the only walk for the Royals. Mullins started on the bump and threw four innings. He struck out five, walked none and allowed four hits. Danny Martinez pitched in relief of Mullins, throwing 29 pitches in an inning of work. He struck out one, walked one and allowed three hits.

The Braves matched the Royals, getting on base eight times, but could not convert as many baserunners into runs. Seven different Braves record a hit: Chase Morris, Nate Peay, Brad Robinson, Juan Trinidad, Troy Harp, Matt Satterfield and Alex Arnold. Harp blasted a solo homer in the fifth and Peay had a double. Andrew Palmer drew the lone walk. Robinson started the game pitching and went four innings. He struck out four, walked one and allowed just one earned run of the 12 scored. Trinidad pitched the last inning and struck out the side.

             

  Piñatas wrangle Outlaws 15-0

The Piñatas had a gem of a pitching performance from Coby Pressley. He went three innings, allowing just one hit, striking out five and walking none. The offense backed his performance with 12 hits and eight walks drawn. Parker Gunn led the way with three hits. Brady Nugent, Aiden Edwards and Cody Lynch each had a pair of singles. AJ Parker, Reed Emerson and JD Parker each had a hit. J. Parker’s hit was a double. Nugent, Luke Davidson, Vann Boyce, Emerson, A. Parker and Pressley drew the walks. Boyce and Emerson took two each.

The Outlaws had a nightmare game only reaching base once. Dillion Childers reached on a base hit to lead off the second inning. Zorion Pullen started the game on the mound for the Outlaws and went two innings. He allowed four hits, walked two and gave up zero earned runs although the Piñatas scored three while he was in. Will Luna and Nick Howell finished the game on the bump.

Shovels bury Reds 10-1

The Shelbvul Shovels took back second place in the standings with a commanding win over the Reds. The Shovels were patient at the plate, drawing 13 walks. The team only recorded one hit, a bases-clearing double by Gage Underwood. Jay Blackburn led the team with three walks taken. Dylan Roller and Jacob Hawkins took the free base twice. The other walks were taken by Nick Hopper, Caden Thomas, Jacob Price, Jacob Cooper. Austin Johnson and Tyler Bolden. Underwood started for the Shovels and hurled three innings. He struck out four, allowed two hits, one run and walked none. Hawkins finished the game going three-up, three-down.

The Reds continue their streak of win-one, lose-one to start the season at 2-2. The team picked up both of their hits in the first inning. Clay Burnett singled to lead off the innings and then with two outs Chevis Hoover drove Burnett in from third to tie the game 1-1. Hoover was out advancing to second. The Reds took zero walks. Brandon Ness started on the mound and went two innings. He allowed just one hit, struck out four batters and walked six. Logan Burt and Burnett pieced together the last two innings, striking out another five Shovel batters and walking seven.
