Candidates make dash to finish

The top three candidates for Tullahoma mayor are making a dash to the finish as Kurt Glick, Lynn Sebourn, and Petros Pisinos all reported spending thousands in the final month of the municipal campaign.
The numbers were compiled from the public filings of the candidate expense reports filed at the county election commission. Not all money taken in and spent has been reported yet as there is another reporting period to go. The numbers were compiled from the two reports submitted to the election commission in July.
For Tullahoma mayor, Sebourn led the way in spending during July as he reported spending a combined $13,457 on his campaign. His campaign was also fed by 70 separate contributors as he reported taking in $20,444 through donations and personal investment in his campaign. His biggest spending was $4,422 for postcards and printing.
Local businessman Petros Pisinos jumped out to a lead in spending early as he launched his all-out campaign prior to the vote on the city charter which kept the election in August instead of moving it to November. He was second in total spending as of the July reporting period as he reported spending $11,775. He took in $15,106 with most being his own money. His major line item was $6,776 for mailers.
Alderman Kurt Glick stayed on pace as he reported spending $8,416 during the same period. Glick took in $12,209. He had 14 separate donors report, with four of those being for $1,000. He also reported contributing $3,739 of his own money to the campaign effort. His biggest expenditures were for printing, signs and t-shirts and $1,514 for a digital billboard.
Busch Thoma led all candidates for alderman as he reported spending $4,425. John Santana was second, spending $3,323 and taking in $3,500. He had two $1,000 contributors. Bird was third spending $1,372 and taking in $1,350. Sernobia McGee and Franklin Cammack reported spending under $1,000.
Along with Tullahoma city mayor, the Coffee County mayor’s race also saw some late spending as a trio of candidates vie to fill the seat of the late County Mayor Judd Matheny who died unexpectedly earlier this year.
Roxanne Patton led the way in spending as she reported spending $4,340 and taking in $8,050. She had 11 different contributors to her campaign, three of whom donated $1,000. Her biggest expenditure was $2,000 for a billboard.
Dennis Hunt reported taking in and spending $2,275. He had five donors and his biggest spending was for signs and ads.
David Nipper reported spending $400 and taking in $575 and had one contributor to his campaign.
