The sparks – and parts – will fly this Saturday as the Hands-On Science Center will present the third installment of the T-Town Beatdown.

T-Town Beatdown III will take place on Saturday, Aug. 3, at the science center’s campus at 101 Mitchell Blvd. The doors will open at 9 a.m. and the robot fighting tournaments will take place throughout the day. Each tournament will consist of robots in different weight classes duking it out to be the one to come out on top.

Ticket options include 9 a.m. entry for $15, where attendees will get an early start on the action with fights taking place around every five minutes, 11:30 a.m. entry for $7, where the fun continues as the fights progress through the brackets, and 2:30 p.m. entry for $7, where the finals will take place among the best of the best throughout the day.

“Whether you’re a robotics enthusiast or just looking for a fun day out, this event has something for everyone,” HOSC officials said. “Bring your friends and family and experience the excitement firsthand.”

T-Town Beatdown III will not be the only weekend with robot fighting as the science center will host a follow-up event Battling Bots, Brats and Beer on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the science center.

“This event is not just about fun—it’s also supports science education,” HOSC officials said. “Come for the robots, stay for the brats and beer, and know that you’re contributing to a great cause. This is the perfect night out for robot enthusiasts, foodies, and anyone looking for a unique, fun-filled evening.”

Battling Bots, Brats and Beer will be an adult only event, ages 21 and older, and tickets for the event are $20, free for “HOSC STEM Soiree: Where Adults Play” annual pass holders, and includes a free beer or house wine, a brat and free childcare. Tickets can be purchased at tinyurl.com/HOSCBBBB.
