Four-way tie at the top in men’s league

The Royals, Piñatas, Shovels and Stache are tied atop the standings at 5-2 with just three games left in the season.
The Piñatas, Shovels and Royals were tied in second at 4-2 prior to Monday. The Piñatas beat the first place Stache, while the Royals and Shovels won their games to create the four-team tie.
The Reds are one game behind the leaders at 4-3, they played the Royals Tuesday but the results were not available at the time of print. The Stache and Shovels played the two one-win teams while the Piñatas took on the 2-5 Braves.
Piñatas smack Stache 9-1
The Piñatas brought the Stache back to the pack with a gem from Coby Presley. He allowed just one hit and it was a home run in the fifth inning. Presley struck out eight and walked just two. He helped himself out with a homer in the sixth. Luke Davidson led the team with three hits. He had a solo homer in the fifth, a double in the third and a double in the first. Reed Emerson was the other Piñatas player with multiple hits. Brady Nugent, Aiden Edwards, Vann Boyce and Jarrett Dickens had the other team hits. AJ Parker took a pair of walks while Presley drew one.
The Stache’s one hit on the game was a homer by Dylan Ward. They reached base just two other times by a walk. One by Layne Roberts and one by Noah Fann. Fann started on the mound and pitched 4.1 innings striking out three. He walked two, gave up five hits and allowed two earned runs. Lee Carden took the ball after Fann and went 1.1 striking out a pair. He walked one, gave up five hits and allowed five runs. Bryce Allemore got the last out for the Stache.
Shovels hold off Outlaws 7-3
The Shelbvul Shovels came back from the early 3-0 deficit they faced after the first inning by scoring in four of the last five innings. Gage Underwood started for the Shovels, he settled down after the first inning, only walking a batter over the next two innings. He totaled four strike outs in his three innings of work. Jacob Hawkins relieved Underwood and did not allow a baserunner over three innings while striking out seven. Jay Blackburn led the offense with three hits, including a double. Caden Thomas and Dylan Roller both had two-hit games. Thomas had a triple. Underwood and Tyler Bolden had the other hits. The Shovels took three walks. Taylor Simmons, Austin Johnson and Bolden drew the walks.
Zorion Pullen, Will Luna, Donnie and Jake Newcomb all hit singles in a row to take the 3-0 lead in the first. Luna took the team’s only walk. He also started on the bump and went four innings. He walked one, gave up one earned run and struck out two. Owen Guidry pitched 1.1 innings. He walked two, struck out two, gave up three hits and allowed two earned runs.
Reds shutout Braves 3-0
Clay Burnett started for the Reds and went four innings. Burnett struck out nine batters, walked one and allowed three hits. Matthew Wright pitched the last inning. He walked one and struck out one. Jay Phillips led the team with a pair of hits. Burnett, Wright, Chevis Hoover, Tyler Wright and Logan Burt each had a hit. Dillon Taylor drew the lone walk for the Reds.
Brad Robinson gave the Braves a quality start going five innings of two earned runs, but the offense could plate any runs. Robison struck out seven batters, walked one and allowed seven hits. Chase Morris, Steve Longo and Josh Weaver had a hit. Robison and Kyle Ramsey took the team’s only walks.
Royals obliterate Pink Sox 31-5
Terrin Maupin led the onslaught with four hits and walk. He batted in eight runs and had a pair of homers. Derrick Boles had three hits and one walk. He hit the other home run for the Royals. Dylan Riddle, Corey Mullins and Ross Capps had two hits. Jason Waller, James Webster, David Gagnier and Danny Martinez each had a hit. Mullins and JJ Webster led the team with three walks drawn. Gagnier had two. Capps, Jeff Riddle James Webster and Martinez took one. Martinez started the game pitching for the Royals and went three innings. He struck out two, walked three, allowed three hits and gave up three earned runs. Boles took the ball for the fourth innings and struck out one in a three-up, three-down inning.
The Pink Sox committed six errors, while only reaching base six times. Darius Robinson, Blake Quillen and Jordan Welker had the three hits. Robinson, Xavier Northcutt and Carlos Medina took the walks. Northcutt pitched the first 0.2 innings. He struck out one. Medina pitched the next 2.1 innings striking out three. Garner pitched the last inning.
