It’s that time of year again where Tullahoma gets into the country spirit as South Jackson Performing Arts Center (SJPAC) presents the 45^th annual Peggy Burton’s South Jackson Goes Country show starting this Friday.

The country variety show will kick-off on Friday, Aug. 9, and run through Sunday, Aug. 12. Showtime for the Friday and Saturday shows will be at 7 p.m., and show time for the Sunday show will be at 2 p.m. The warmup show will take place 30 minutes prior to the main show for all three days.

Peggy Burton’s South Jackson Goes Country is presented by South Jackson Performing Arts Center, with Nearest Green Distillery as the title sponsor and Whiskey Country Radio on 95.9 and 105.1 FM as the stage sponsor. The country variety show will feature three unique shows for each day, with a rotating cast of singers and dancers, that will provide entertainment for the whole family, as well as on-stage ads from local businesses that give the show it’s distinct identify of “always classic, always funny.”

According to SJPAC Chairman Greg Gressel, the 45^th edition of the show is a full circle moment, as when SJPAC first became an association and a performing arts center, Burton put on the country show as a way raise to money to get the building ready to open to the public on regular basis.

“It is going to be an exciting event,” Gressel said. “45 years later, they will be the first show that happens in the newly renovated auditorium, so that’s kind of cool.”

As for tickets, Gressel said there will be tier seating options for the three day country variety show. Ticket options include $30 for center floor/orchestra area, $28 for the balcony seats and $25 for the side seats in advance. Those who purchase tickets the day of the shows will have to pay an extra $2.

Each show will feature music, comedy and “all around fun” for all ages including on-stage business ads from local businesses. Online ticket sales will stop at two hours prior to show time.

That won’t be the end of the country music as Grammy award winning country artist Linda Davis will be making a stop at the performing arts center on Saturday, Aug. 17, and will be accompanied by Bill Whyte and Lang Scott. Showtime is set for 7 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at by visiting southjacksonperformingartscenter.thundertix.com.
